CCP provides a wide range of opportunities to people wishing to become volunteers. Whether it's 2 hours per week or as a full time volunteer, there is something for everyone. Our volunteers can attend a series of structured training sessions alongside regular staff and, in time, many progress to full or part time paid positions.
We offer voluntary work which includes:
- Acting as Appropriate Adults to young people and vulnerable adults in police custody
- Supporting Families in their own homes, helping them cope with the stresses of family life
- Giving Advice and Information to people of all ages at Cheltenham 1st Stop
- Helping with Leisure, Sports and Activities for families, children and young people
- Cooking with young people living in Foyer and parents and children at St Paul's Community House
- Reception and Administration at our head office at Royal Crescent or 1st Stop
- Fundraising activities and research
Volunteers, along with all other CCP staff, complete an induction and a core training programme in Supporting Clients, Professional Boundaries, Dealing with Difficult Situations and Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups. An additional bespoke package of training will be offered as appropriate, covering topics such as Appropriate Adult, Substance Misuse and Mental Health. To provide support and encourage personal development, each volunteer is assigned a personal mentor.
