Graffiti Workshop |
|
The Educational Pathways training centre has been working with the Prince’s Trust to create artwork for the Open Houses event in June. Some of the young people recently took part in a taster day where they explored different types of graffiti from all around the world, and techniques from lettering to spraying to stenciling. Juice 126, a professional graffiti artist, came to the training centre to show us how it’s done! Although a little hesitant at first the young people really got into the workshop, designing what they were going to spray onto canvas and big wooden boards. Everyone was disappointed when the day was over so Juice agreed to come back in May and do another workshop before the Open Houses Exhibition. It was really good to see the young people involved in a positive activity which is normally considered a criminal act. They gained a lot from the experience and can’t wait for Juice to come back and develop their skills. The Open Houses Exhibition will be held at the Educational Pathways training centre in Grove Street and is open to the members of the public between 10am and 3pm from Saturday 9th June until Saturday 16th June. |
