Connexions School Inclusion Adviser
|
CCP's
Connexions-funded Personal Adviser [PA] works with young people referred by
education welfare officers and schools. The pupils, aged from 13 to16, will be
in danger of disengaging from education, may have a record of poor attendance
or may have been subject to exclusions. There
may be also be concerns over the pupils' home circumstances.
A key feature of the Adviser's role is
working on a regular 1:1 basis in order to build the confidence, aspirations
and self esteem of children who have limited prospects at school or as school
leavers. Where appropriate, the Personal Advisor can also support parents
alongside the young people and can make referrals to the Community Services
team.
